Description: The understanding of the TF/TL and the ISTE standards were instrumental in thinking about and designing my Field Experience plan. I can look to the standards to ensure that each action I complete and each tech tool I research or use will be deliberate and useful. It is also good to have an understanding of the Teacher and Student standards as well so, again, your choices can be deliberate. When you have an understanding of the standards, you are able to seek out and align yourself with one or more of the standards. I am creating a training module for my student employees and it makes choosing the technology deliberate when you are aligning it to the needs and standards of the students.
Impact: If you are choosing technology and content that does not work together along with aligning with the standards, it may not be necessary. It will have wasted the time of the coach, teacher and the student. When a coach has an understanding of the standards and a teacher comes to them asking what technology to implement, there needs to be a deliberate choice to be sure that it meets the needs of the lesson and aligns with a standard.
Intent: I will stay aware of the standards, constantly challenging my knowledge of the coach, teacher and student standards. I will continue to be aware of changes made to them. I will ask questions if I am unclear on a standard or how I can meet that standard. I will be sure that my actual field experience will align with the standards and make deliberate, thought out choices when adding artifacts to my ePortfolio and have a thorough understanding of how each experience and artifact aligns and complies with the standards.
